Field Trip Day In Mrs. DE strake’s Class
Today in Mrs. DE strake’s class it was field trip day!! The room was buzzing with excitement. We loaded the children on the bus and headed for Cayoosh Creek Campground.
I had no idea that we were going to visit the communities water treatment plant. It was neat as my project for this practicum is community . The District workers are essential community members . I was telling S.M. and A.P. these people pick up our garbage, fix roads, work with water treatment plant. We visited 4 pieces of equipment that the district utilize throughout the community . The children got to sit on some of the equipment . Each child was allowed to stand in the garbage truck and honk the horn a few times. Many of the children enjoyed this experience.
After school care program
I brought the bubble wands to the after school program so we could play and empty out. I had a plan for my last day of practicum. while kids played with bubbles i got to bring out a hand drum and do a couple songs with K.F. and A.M. brought joy to my heart to hear K.F. sing the woman warrior song. I believe she is going to be a strong leader.
