While trying to build community with the children in the program It was suggested to do daily rituals .
While supervising K.F. prepping A.M. was watching and noticed carrots were wet and gross that also she did not want to touch them. So i respected and listened to her and instead asked her “if she would please go fill the water pitcher ?” She was very happy to help. Even at the end of snack we brought the left over carrots and peas in a baggy outside . N.M. handed me the baggies just to be helpful with getting snack ready take out. Watching the older kids be helpful inspired her to also. Doing these small jobs will build into bigger skills in the kitchen down the road. Social responsibility was delegated and scaffolded today.
