DAY 7 Practicum (December 10,2024)

Math and Literacy

kids were asked how many letters in frog.

In math and literacy block kids were paired into pairs, then given a word. Mrs. Destrake asked the kids to sound out the word , then asked to converse with their partner if their word had fewer, the same, or more letters than the word frog or turtle. She kept the kids engaged. When needed a student would ask if they sounded word out correct. Was neat to watch the students look and sound out the word, then count the numbers in the word. Also in science block kids learned about the different types of energy ( chemical, electrical, and gravitational ) and that energy is everywhere. I sat next to Kayden and Myla and asked if jumping used energy if so what kind ? Was a fun lesson to learn , and kids seemed surprised energy is used in a lot of our everyday living.

Christmas Concert Practice

Was such a delight to watch the 2 kindergarten classes come together to practice their holiday song selection. Kids showed genuine interest and listened very well to their teachers. It made me so happy that i shed a few tears of joy quitely.

After School Care

Here is Sloane Highly focused on her 2nd hat she is making , she is one of the older kids that is helpful when it comes to helping the smaller kids with tasks. Also usually a delight to chat with as always in a good mood that is contagious Same with Karlee. It is beyond a joy that can be explained to see kids like Nova finish a craft .

Great photo’s Patti. They really help to make your time at the school come alive for me. It is a difficult time of year for many teachers with Christmas concerts and distracted children. Glad you could be extra eyes, ears and hands!
