Before School Childcare Program
This morning was a good chilly morning to do a snowman song and craft. Karlie and Andrew Flann were the only 2 kids for a bit. So I asked the kids ” do you have a favorite Christmas song?” To my surprise Karlie said Jingle bells and Frosty the snowman. I had that book choosen.
We sang Frosty the Snowman while reading. Was so fun , my inner child’s spark was ignited . Such a nice reminder that when you love what you do it is not work.
In Mrs. Destrakes Class
This week’s teacher’s aid is still Kayden . Kayden gets to pick 3 names to help with the morning message. He is a cool guy. Such a eager spirit , that at times needs guidance. I observed Mr. Alan held the container with the classes name instead of letting Kayden do, as he rushes with excitement and we do not get to finish task 1st at hand. Was a great way to adapt to environment and guided the child to desired behaviors.
In language and literacy they are working on choosing a photo, then starting with ” I am . . ” then writting what they are doing in the photo. Was neat watch them converse about what they are doing . Could tell they were enjoying the work they were doing, was followed with giggles and smiles.
In the school the children have reading and language art blocks. The kids have been working on letter recognition and sounds of the letters. Ms. Christy uses fidget with alphabet on it. Ms. Christy used a white board to show them which letter to look for on their fidget. Once it was found the kids showed her. We popped in during middle of group to see if the kids needed support.
