Last Day of Practicum

Today was the last day of practicum . In class we did a class lesson on bubble making. I decided last day should be an amazing afternoon filled with memories. I let a number of children measure and mix the water, dish soap, and glycerin. A.M. made a double recipe , N.M. also did and 2 other children. The program had a box of bubble toys and tools! I was excited to see what the bubbles were going to do as an invitation to play. It was nice the bubble bin had more than enough trays and bubble wands for everyone. Which was a great way to prevent fighting. Prevention is key.

here is A.M. making her own 3 ingredients bubbles. she wanted to double it so we have more to use . I enjoyed spectating while A.M. made her bubbles.

I felt that everyone was having fun and being included. I do not know about you, there is something about bubbles that brings out your inner child. I felt like i did not want the afternoon to end. Well Being was cared for ( the children) and belonging… It sure looked like

Engaging with Identities, social responsibility, and diversity . Which of these pathways was present. I know some of the older kids were trying to communicate calmly and inform the younger excited children they were in their personal space and did not like them popping their bubbles right away. Social acceptable behaviors were being reverted by the older children. I made sure to listen and only intervene if needed aid in asking to move back.

Watching the children enjoy being their authentic selves was a honor to over see during this practicum. I had struggles, yet i also had many joyous memories also. I have come out of this practicum with more knowledge about emotions , communication, and a little more of an ability to be better at my pedagogy of listening. I look forward to see what the last practicum brings .
